Best restaurant near ucsf.
real Vietnamese taste
Great food for family of 6. Wendy(owner) and those working were very helpful and courteous. Great tasting food!! Thank you! :)
Best chicken soup in town
Nice cozy eatery. Great food with great service. They open early.
I have lunch at my father's kitchen at least once a week. It's such a great place. The food is awesome, the prices are low and the staff is very friendly.
Although the hours of this place need to be extended by two hours for us neighbors, this is one of the best simple Pho restaurants in SF. I have been to Vietnam and eaten at all the Pho places in town and this is on my top 5 list
Good Pho and great service. I have really enjoyed getting take from here on Thursday nights. Someday I'll dine in, I promise!
The food was bland and service terrible. They kept telling me to get up and move to seat others while I was eating. It would not have been a big deal but there were other empty tables and they asked me to move 5 times. They were very rude.
Delicious comfort food at its best!
Good noodle joint near UCSF. Busy during lunch.
Not a place for vegetarians/vegans. I feel sick. They filled my plate with leafy greens and some old rice noodles and really bad vegetarian imperial rolls. It was just a thick deep fried batter with no real filling. The lone star is because my buddy said his noodle soup was ok!
Service was a little slow even though it wasn't peak time: I was seated but didn't get a menu for about 5 mins, then it took another 15 mins for someone to come and take my order, and then another 15 mins for my food to arrive...The food itself ( I went with one of the pho options) was yummy!
No bean sprouts & mushy non-traditional noodles for pho soup, overpriced for what little you get, also got 5-spice chicken, just ok.
Delicious fresh and flavorful food. Staff was so generous -- great service!
Excellent and Chloe and Yoyo are so nice .
My Father's kitchen is the best phở Hanoi I had for a while. Their phở bò gà is authentic in broth flavor, delicate flat noodles (not those common dry ones), and chicken texture Definitely a new contender in San Francisco. Ended having 2 bowls in a row because it is soo good.
OMG. I am a PHO Critic. I love this place!! And the SERVICE WAS GGGRRRREEEAAT
With the abundance of Vietnamese restaurants in the neighborhood, My Father's Kitchen almost has a monopoly on pho and rice dishes. They specialize on chosen, quality food - a glance at the menu won't overwhelm you as it does at other places. Starters, pho, rice and vermicelli noodles. As other reviewers pointed out, this is Northern Vietnamese pho, focusing on the basics: no sprouts or basil, but fresh meat, a tasty broth, and thick noodles. My favorite here is the BEEF PHO ($9) - can't go wrong with that.Prices - it's not the Tenderloin or Sunset... expect to pay $9 for a pho and $11/12 for noodles dishes. Well worth it though as the restaurant is clean, presentation nice, and service friendly.Noteworthy: The coffee selection includes Blue Bottle drip, nice addition to the Vietnamese coffee.
Yummy pho but small place. May have to wait a little.
Simple satisfying Vietnamese phos, rice plates, and vermicelli are now available for takeout only.
I eat here as often as I can. The #10 (chicken satay) is delicious. Also, the spring rolls, papaya salad, and chicken soup are delicious. There's a #11, which is pork meatballs and pork with rice, which is also really good. This place is fast. The food is always fresh and delicious. And it's very reasonably priced--you can get a very hearty meal for well under $10. The peanut sauce that comes with the spring rolls is SO GOOD, it's almost like dessert. Can't recommend this place enough.
very tasty soups. highly recommend the chicken soup.
Delicious, clean, beef broth noodle soups that are as comfortable as your favorite cashmere throw and as tasty as a five star restaurant. The staff is amazingly friendly always.
Very Friendly Staff, Meal was delicious my only complaint would be it's very cramped inside as far as seating.
Best chicken broth!
Rude and brusque service. The customer service here is about on par with an army mess hall. Food quality is mediocre and authenticity factor low. Convenient location for the UCSF medical crowd though.
Food is always as I expect it to be, very good. I can tell that it's owners are Chinese. The way their chicken in the pho is always tender and not over cooked or rubbery. The staff is always very nice.
Quality Pho and rolls. I really loved the Imperial rolls. They also open for breakfast. Highly recommended!
Excellent food, very reasonably priced and quick & friendly service.
I ordered the chicken noodle soup on the menu number 5 it was very tasty the boss is very good noodle with excellent. Waitress are very friendly and the prices are very reasonable the restaurant is in a convenient location great for before medical appointment or after medical appointment it was so cold outside that I needed the restaurant to warm up and this soup really helps I would recommend this place thank you
Small but inviting Pho shop, very good food and reasonable prices. Definitely a must try.
Quick, fast, solid. Wish they do a better job refilling water!
Great, authentic Vietnamese cuisine.
The pho is very good.
Delicious soups and rolls, great service, good for dining in or takeout.
This is the best Vietnamese comfort food in San Francisco. We have come to this restaurant for more than 6 years and we haven’t found a better place that this restaurant. We have even tried going to San Bruno, and other cities around and nothing compares to My Father’s Kitchen!
Nice cozy place i love the atmosphere in this place! I love the foods
Limited menu but all are good
Northern vietnamese restaurant so no bean sprouts if that matters to you. Had pork and noodles for lunch - delicious!
I come here for lunch cos I work very close by. The food is really good! The interior is very clean, nice and calm atmosphere. The staffs are super friendly and the service was quick for me. I will definitely coming back here regularly.
Equally good both for takeout lunch or dine-in dinner. The vermicelli is my favorite ;-)
Very excellent. Reminded me of my time in Vietnam.
I really like the pho here. Great place to have lunch if you have an appointment at one of the many medical facilities in the area.
Great authentic Vietnamese food! I got a chicken and shrimp rice plate. The chicken and shrimp were perfectly grilled, and the rice was very hot and fresh. The dipping sauce was very well made. Good service too!
I like Vietnamese food especially pho, so, it saddens me when I have to give low ratings. It’s overpriced. Small portions. Tasteless broth. Dirty utensils. Overcooked noodles.Friendly staff. Clean restroom.
Quick and convenient to mount zion hospital. Food was ok, but nothing to get excited about.
Yummy Vietnamese place, simple but tasty menu near KaiserSF.
Very very average. Decent broth, not great noodles. No mint or bean sprout sides to add to the pho.
It’s good for the area its in. A cute little pho shop. I got the pho bo dac biet without noodles, the meat and broth was good. A good lunch spot. It can get crowded in there but be patient with them! The staff is really nice!
